Ray Traitz: Co-owner of AMRAP Fitness


Coach Ray was born and raised in Philadelphia PA, where, at a very young age he sparked a strong interest in moving faster and getting stronger and coaching others to do the same. Testing his mental, physical, and athletic abilities were a daily occurrence throughout his life and continue to be so till this day. 

Growing up Coach Ray participated in several sports: Soccer, baseball, track & field... But! He had a love for and truly excelled in both wrestling and football, participating in both sports for many years, continuing throughout his college career at the Division II school of Kutztown University in PA. It didn't stop there, and continues till this day, as Ray is a competitive CrossFit athlete and has been since 2007, competing in the CrossFit Games Northeast Regionals from 2009-2013, and this year, 2017, as one of the oldest competitors in his newly added master's division (35-39) he finished 23rd in the world in the CrossFit Games Open, and is respected to this day as one of the "OG's" (Original Gangsta's) and best athletes in the Northeast Region in the sport of CrossFit. So, he knows first hand the type of hard work and dedication that goes into being an all around successful competitive athlete. 

Because of his passion for fitness and teaching others, Coach Ray pursued and received his Bachelor of Science in Education, with a minor in Sports Pedagogy; additionally, and even more impressive, Coach Ray holds his Masters in Health & Physical Education from Emporia State University of KS: Furthermore, and along with the above academic credentials, Coach Ray is also well seasoned in the field of Sports Psychology.

Coach Suzanne is a lifelong resident of Rockland County and mother of two. After owning a successful hair salon for over twenty years, she decided to make a drastic life change and follow her heart to pursue a career in the health and fitness industry. She started her fitness journey at the age of nineteen, weighing close to two-hundred-pounds, and at the age of twenty-six she began her journey as an amateur bodybuilder until finding her true passion and love of CrossFit in 2009, and later becoming a competitive and  internationally ranked CrossFit masters athlete from 2013-2016.  Additionally, at the age of twenty-six Suzanne went back to college, earning herself an associates degree in Liberal Arts And Social Sciences at SUNY Rockland. 

Coach Suzanne is not your everyday CrossFit Trainer, but a connoisseur  in the "Corrective Exercise Continuum", and is a duly certified "CES" through the National  Academy Of Sports Medicine. Suzanne specializes in prescribing  individuals with specific exercise programs to address and correct postural imbalances in the body, preventing acute injuries and reversing chronic injuries, as well as managing and diminishing any current pain due to these imbalances, and therefore  bringing forth all around well-being and quality of life for people of all ages and stages in their lives.

Coach Nataliya Olifer

Nataliya was born in Ukraine and moved to New Jersey with her family at the age of 16. She has always been active playing a variety of sports while growing up, with a focus on running and martial arts during her college years. After getting her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Masters in Educational Technology at Ramapo College of NJ, Nataliya started working as a high school math teacher. She is extremely passionate about educating children and changing their lives one day at a time.

Nataliya discovered CrossFit in December of 2013 and fell in love with it from day one. The Coach Ray’s training and especially community gave her the foundation she didn’t know she was missing. The AMRAP Fitness approach to strength and conditioning training gave her results she never thought her body was capable of achieving. Her work ethic is one of a kind in and out of the gym. The word “quit” is not part of her vocabulary.

Nataliya loves inspiring others to be the best they can be. She is extremely honored to now be part of the AMRAP team and be able to give back to the CrossFit community.

Robin “Gunny” Samueles


Originally from New York City Robin moved to Rockland County with his family at the age of 10. He was also the oldest of four boys where his parents instilled a sense of leadership which in turn helped him in his life long accomplishments. 

Growing up Robin and his brothers all were extreme athletic and involved in sports. He attended Clarkstown North high school and played baseball, basketball and football. Football and basketball were his two passions. However, football prevailed when Robin was named all league, and all county. At this point he discovered that becoming physical fit was a key to his success. This sparked a strong interest and enthusiasm towards health and fitness.

After high school Robin joined the U.S Navy. Here his fitness, athletic ability, and leadership skills assisted in graduating boot camp at the top of his class. 

Once Robin was placed in his fleet not only did his fitness and character helped him stand out, but gave him the opportunity to become a member of the VBSS (Visit Broad Search &  Team. He served 4 years with 2 deployments received a Navy/Marine Corp achievement medal and was honorably discharged as an E5. 

Robin still had a thirst for utilizing his fitness and was introduced to CrossFit in 2011. He gravitated towards this style of training and learning. This motivated him to compete for the first time in the 2013 CrossFit Open. He as been competing in ever CrossFit Open since then and competing at the local level.  

Robin recently obtained his CrossFit L-1 which brought him to the next chapter in his fitness career. Coach Ray Traitz, his training staff, and the AMRAP family have given him the opportunity to expand on his fitness journey.  He is extremely excited to bring my unique personality and enthusiasm to the AMRAP.
