Coach Jared Acosta

Coach Jared was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Always an active kid, he was known as the “Tasmanian devil” in his early years. He had an interest in wrestling and often pounced on his relatives just because. His energy level needed to be channeled into something productive.

Jared’s father got Jared involved in fitness early on. Among other sports, Jared began playing baseball at 5, alongside other intramural sports. Jared began calisthenics early on to increase his athletic performance. Jared picked up pop warner football at 10. Jared continue playing both sports through high school. Jared would have played college football if it weren’t for a torn meniscus that he dealt with all of his senior year in high school.

That’s where the passion for health and fitness is spurred. Jared started working in a global gym in college and became a personal trainer during college. Jared was certified as a personal trainer with NASM and Apex. Jared learned movement patterns and corrective exercises and rehabbed from his meniscus tear without undergoing surgery.

Since then, Jared continues to hold fitness as a centerpiece of his lifestyle. He has trained for triathlons, adventure races and CrossFit competitions. Jared continues to train using the Crossfit methodology, focusing on strength or aerobic capacity at different points in the year. Jared has successfully completed the Crossfit L1 program.

Jared loves teaching and loves fitness and looks forward to helping you along your fitness journey.

Jared’s achievements include, but are not limited too:
